Ligue 1

Ligue 1 is the top professional football (soccer) league in France. It is one of the premier leagues in European football and features clubs that compete for the national championship. Established in 1933, it operates under the governance of the French Football Federation. Ligue 1 is known for its competitive teams, including well-known clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique Lyonnais, and AS Monaco. The league typically runs from August to May, with each team playing 38 matches in a round-robin format. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion. In addition to determining the national champion, Ligue 1 also influences qualification for European competitions, such as the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, based on the league’s standings.
